Day 2!

today was awesome!! We had 2 practice runs and did all of our judging! All the judging went great, but of course the robot is messing up..... :/ but we've made several changes that *should* help. We had 2 practice robot runs today, and tomorrow are the 3 real runs! Check out NASA's webcast at http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/robotics/ Click on the last link (FLL/Einstein). Our runs will be on Friday at 10:25, 11:50 and 2:05 Central Time. Don't be late because the runs are only 2.5 min. long!!

Internal Compiler Errors?! FIXED! (sorta)

Yep... more errors, in '08 it was File errors..... '09 we got off easy. Now it's Internal Compiler Errors. After some research it sounds like it's NXT-G error 5005. One that people don't know how to fix. BUT.... instead of spending more time figuring out the problem and fixing it, we decided to bypass the problem completely by separating one mission out of our Mission Organizer (MO) and leaving it in a separate program. We're not 100% positive what the problem is exactly but it has something to do with having a certain number of blocks in the MyBlocks. Because it worked if we removed the last several blocks in a program, but this of course wouldn't do. So we went with the above "fix"

We have a possible 375 points, but also need some more practice. :/

~Calvin, excited for next week, yes, NEXT WEEK!!-

Tuesday 12/8 meeting

Yesterday was possibly our last meeting because of the snow storm that is blowing though here. So we practiced and practiced and practiced. Did I mention that we practiced? Oh yes, we practiced. Before the meeting, Calvin and I made the schematics of our innovative solution, EVAR safe, you can see all about it on our website. Now were just hoping for good weather to Flint.

Todays meeting...and only one more week left!

Today's meeting went well! We practiced our skit and then made a few changes - taking out lines to save time, etc. Then we went and met with our mentor again, we worked more on refining our solution... and had some pizza! :)

Calvin, getting excited, and rushed.

Tuesday 11/17 meeting

Yesterday, we worked on our robot and skit. Before the meeting, Jarren and Calvin worked on trying a different attachment to get the loops in the corner, but it wouldn't work. :( During our meeting, we were thinking of ideas to complete that mission. Jarren and Calvin are going to try some new ideas today (Wednesday). Then, towards the end of the meeting, we changed out skit even more and practiced running it through. We figured out that we all need more practice. :\ I'm sure it'll get done though! :)

Just 1 more meeting left to Regionals!

Aaron, Doesn't have any time on his hands to complete what needs to get done. :'{

Thursdays last meeting!

Yesterday was our last meeting!!!!!!!!!!!

We finished all our props and binders. We found out that Tim  wont be able to be at the tourney for the presentation, so we had to practice without him. Aaron is going to play Tims part. We also ran our robot a bunch and got 370! We would of got 400 but the robot mised a grey loop.

Jarren, getting ready to head out to Flint. :)

Tuesday 11/3 meeting

Like Calvin said, 2 days!!! But here is what happened yesterday and today.
Yesterdays meeting went good. Calvin, Josh and I fine-tuned the robot before the meeting. Once every one arrived, we did some practice runs, and decided that Josh was going to be the robot runner, and Calvin, Brian and I are going to be attachment guys. We then had a practice tech judging. We practiced our skit until parents came. We did it for them and got feedback from them like, "I didn't know what Calvin part was supposed to be." We edited a bit more, and are going with what we have for the practice tourney.
Today, Calvin and I made the project and robot binders.
Now all we have is tomorrows meeting!

Tounament in 2 days!!

As the title says, our F.I.R.S.T. (lol, I love puns) Tournament is in 2 days!! Not quite ready, we are rushing to make last minute changes. Just one last meeting tomorrow before we leave on Friday, as the tournament is a 2 1/2 hour drive. We will probably be making more last minute changes in the hotel rooms (and literally, LAST MINUTE). Our robot "Shark IV" is getting closer and closer to 400 points! We updated some attachments and programs. More updates coming soon!!

Calvin, not ready for the tourney, but hoping to do well :|

Our First Tournament!

We now have 2 meetings until our Practice Tournament on November 7th! The Practice Tournament is where we compete for position, but we don't advance to Internationals or any other level.
We'll just be practicing our Robot and our Presentation for the next couple meetings.

Jarren, not quite ready for the tourney.

Practice Tournament

Our team decided to participate in a State-wide Practice Tournament to see what we will need to improve before the Regional Qualifier.

The only problem is that we have to get all our stuff done by November 7!
